Background

The foundation concept was initially conceived in 2003 as a partnership between Rotary International, Curtin University of Technology and the Advantage Program.

As of 2006 the Curtin Advantage Program spun out of Curtin under the wings of founder and private provider AELC. This change in structure meant the founder needed to form a not for profit company limited by guarantee to provide the over-arching structure for all not for profit activities that had previously been supported through the Curtin/Rotary partnership. The AELC is now the Foundation's major supporter and currently provides all staff, premises and operational support.
